Contracts, Lotteries & Waitlists

A consistent schedule contract means a child is signed up to be in childcare:

• At least two days a week.
• On the same days and times each week.

You can choose:

• Before- or after-school care.
• A 4:30 or 6 p.m. pickup time.

You are eligible to:

• Choose extra drop-in days.
• Schedule childcare on non-school days.

We will make sure you keep your spot in future years if you register before the deadline.

A drop-in contract is for families with changing schedules.

You request the days you need childcare online at least four days in advance.

• We can't guarantee you will get a spot when you request it.
• Earlier requests are more likely to be approved.
• Email the site manager with later requests.

You can choose:

A summer contract means a child is signed up to be in childcare at least 20 specific days during the summer session. If you have a contract, you can:

• Add or remove days from your contract until May 1 with no extra fees.
• Request and pay for extra days during the summer.

• We give priority to families who currently have contracts with Wayzata Kids.
  • You do not qualify if you have a summer contract, but no school year contract.
  • Children with full-day PreK contracts qualify.
• We hold a lottery for applicants who do not have current contracts with Wayzata Kids.

• We give priority to families who currently have school year contracts with Wayzata Kids. 
• If we still have space after accepting all current families, we review applications in this order:
  1. Families who are on the school year contract waitlist.
  2. Other district families.
  3. Out-of-district families.
• If there are more applicants than spaces, we put all remaining families in the lottery.

After we receive your application, we. will notify you of your status by email. It will be one of the following:

• Enrolled
• On the waitlist
• Not enrolled or on the waitlist
